Clinical and Nursing Services

At St. Elizabeth School, students benefit from comprehensive support provided by licensed mental health professionals. Each student is assigned a clinical case manager who collaborates with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary team members to better understand and address the student's social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This collaborative approach ensures consistent support across both academic and vocational environments.

Clinical case managers play an active role in students' daily lives, helping to integrate and reinforce social and emotional skills across settings. They are present during classes, leisure time, field trips, and school events, ensuring continuous support. Regular communication with parents and guardians keeps families engaged and informed, providing a steady flow of feedback and updates. Additionally, the clinical team connects students and families to community resources, external agencies, and service providers when needed.

As part of their Individual Education Plan (IEP), students receive individualized and group therapy sessions tailored to their specific needs. These sessions address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Licensed mental health professionals offer counseling, social skills training, and regular mental health monitoring. Therapy groups are designed around student interests to promote increased engagement and maximize the therapeutic benefits.

Nursing Services

School nursing staff care for students with a wide variety of disabilities and chronic diseases. The school nurse works closely with each family and their healthcare providers to ensure the student’s medical needs can be met within the school setting. Examples of nursing services include medication administration, diabetes management, enteral feeding, asthma management, seizure care, and urinary catheterization, as well as sick care and first aid. With access to a full-time registered nurse, students can fully participate in school programming while maintaining their personal health and safety.
